Located 5km from Paravur on the Paravur-Paripally road, Puthenkulam elephant village is a popular tourist spot in Kollam, Kerala. With an area of upto 3.5 acres, the place is home to more than 40 elephants, including the tallest elephant in Kerala named ‘Puthenkulam Ananthapadmanabhan’.

The place is visited by Indian and International visitors in great numbers, particularly during the winter months (November to March). With the help of a tour guide, you can indulge in a joyful elephant ride while enjoying activities like trekking, elephant feeding and bathing.

The elephant rides are available from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

You can also see unique elephant ornaments like gold-plated caparisons, umbrellas, Aalavattom, Venchamaram, and necklaces.

Further, you can reach here by all modes of transportation. Trivandrum International airport is the nearest airport to Parippally, around 44km. Later, you can hire a taxi to travel to the village, about 5km away.

The nearest train station is Paravur train station, from where you can take a route to Parippally.
