The Malanada Ketukazhcha is a unique annual festival that attracts thousands of devotees from all over the place. The festival is one of the significant occasions in the region and is quite a popular one for the whole of the state and the neighboring ones. The festival’s uniqueness lies in the fact that the temple, which is the official stage for the occasion, is the one for Duryodhana, who, according to the great epic Mahabharata, was one of the antagonist cousins of the Pandavas, who, incidentally, were the heroes of the epic.

The festival is a one-day affair that includes various folk art performances, the famed colorful processions called the Kettukazhcha procession, and Kaala Vela. The primary offering at the temple is Toddy. The procession is accompanied by the motifs of bulls, horses, and decorative carts.
