Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) is the nearest base camp, located around 50 km from this peak. Bonacaud is the last motorable road and starting point of trekking for this peak. You can reach this point by taking a bus or driving from Trivandrum.

The best time to visit Agasthyakoodam is between January and April. During this time, the weather is pleasant and considerable for enjoying trekking on this peak. However, women need special permission if they intend to trek to this peak, as they are not allowed here.
