Located at a distance of 17 km from Munnar in the lofty Western Ghats, Top Station is the highest viewpoint of the hill station, at an altitude of 1700 m, lying on the Munnar-Kodaikanal road. It is one of the best locations in Munnar to witness enchanting views of the Western Ghats and Tamil Nadu’s lush valley in the Theni district. This tourist attraction of Munnar is located on the Kerala – Tamil Nadu border and is a favorite spot for tourists and locals alike. If you are lucky, you can enjoy the sight of blooming Neelakurinji flowers here too. The experience is simply amazing, and it feels like one is cloud-walking.

Top Station in Munnar derives its name from the highest railway station here, which is in Kundala Valley. The place also has a historical connection. In olden times, it was a transshipment point from where tea was delivered to Mattupetty and Munnar by train and later dropped down to Kottagudi rope.
