Do visit the Lhalung monastery, also known as Sarkhang and Golden Temple. One of the oldest monasteries in the Spiti valley, it lies at an altitude of 3658 m above sea level. The gompa is accessible through Kaza and Komic. Another attraction is the main, with incredible old murals and stunning ornate carved wooden back frieze. Then, there is Langkharpo chapel with a distinct four-sided statue of the white deity on the top of a podium of snow lions. Spot the skin prayer wheel in the side chapel.

Accommodation in Lhalung comprises decent homestays with basic facilities, serving three home-cooked meals to the guests. You can interact with the locals and have a sneak peek into their peaceful lifestyle, away from the chaos of the city. The best time to visit this place is in the summer as the part is covered with snow during the winter.
