Manikaran Gurudwara is the most famous sikh pilgrimage site near Kullu Manali. Manikaran is not only famous for the Sikhs, but also for the Hindus. It so happened that once Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati went to Manikaran and stayed there for eleven hundred years. During their stay, they were absolutely engrossed with each other. One day while Lord Shiva was still relaxing, his wife Parvati discovered that she had lost her jewel somewhere. She informed her husband but he too failed to find it out.

Then he opened his third eye and created turmoil over the entire Universe. Seeing this Sheshnag started hissing until precious stones were carried by flowing hot waters to his wife Parvati, because it is believed that Sheshnag is the ruler of Naglok, where all lost things are preserved. But now tourists visit this religious place to have a pilgrimage and a holy dip into the sacred hot spring. It is believed to have medicinal effects and release men from all pains and pangs. A visit to Manikaran is thus a unique experience. It is like a multilayered pilgrimage for a man.
