Raghunath Temple is one of the most important temples in Kullu. It is believed that in the 17th century, Raja Jagat Singh committed a sin. And to cover up for the sin, he sent one of his courtiers to Ayodhya to get a deity of Lord Raghunath (Lord Rama). When he returned from Ayodhya, the king built this temple and installed the idol. Since then, this temple has been given great reverence by the locals. In fact, not just locals, travelers visiting Kullu always take out time to offer their sincere prayers here and get blessings from the sweet lord. As a result, it is always thronged with devotees, but during the Dussehra festival, the intensity of reaching the devotees to the temple increases.
The temple hosts the International Dussehra Fair every year, which falls in October or November. During the festival, people gather to celebrate the power of good over evil and to have darshans of local deities and Lord Raghunath. The Temple has great reverence for Hindus and it’s a must-visit if you are coming to Kullu. You can visit the temple during the Kullu trip with our meticulously crafted Kullu Manali tour packages.
