About Dal Lake Kangra:

In the state of Himachal Pradesh, the perennial rivers are the sources of some of the most beautiful lakes in the state and India. These beautiful lakes are coursed by the ice-cold waters of the dissolving snow from the uppermost peaks of the towering mountains. The chilly water of these lakes is conceived as revitalizing to the exhausted and fatigued travelers on their way. Moreover, because of the lakes’ connection with the state’s religious places, it is believed that the lakes in Himachal Pradesh provide a sense of spiritual bliss to the travelers.

The Dal Lake in the state of Himachal Pradesh is located in the district of Kangra, which is situated at a distance of 11 kilometers from a place called Dharamshala. The Dal Lake Himachal Pradesh is positioned on the way, along the motor road, to a place called Talnu. Deodar trees surround Dal Lake in the Kangra district. On the banks of the Dal Lake, there is a small temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Because of the presence of this temple, Dal Lake is considered a sanctified lake. The banks of the Dal Lake in Himachal Pradesh are livened up by a fair, which is attended by a large number of the Gaddi tribe in September every year.
