Tse Choklilng Gompa in McLeodganj

Located on a steep hillside in the Dhauladhar ranges of Mcleodganj, Tse Chokling Gompa is amongst the popular monasteries in the region. Built in 1987 as a mark of replacement of the original Dip Tse Chokling Gompa in Tibet, the monastery is highly regarded for its cultural significance in the valley.

Being a Tibetan Buddhist monastery, the Gompa houses a tall, beautiful, gilt edged figure of Lord Buddha. Beside the illustrious figurine of Lord Buddha, the monastery also has a statue of Padamasambhava. Not just for the divine statues, Tse Chokling Gompa also intrigues the travelers with its brilliantly crafted Mandals.

Owing to the highly spiritual atmosphere and historic cultural significance, Tse Chokling Gompa in Mcleodganj surely is one of the most visited religious spots in the region. Post the Gompa, one can also choose to visit Dalai Lama’s temple complex, which lies in proximity to the famed monastery in McLeodganj.
