Soami Bagh Samadh Agra

The Soami Bagh in Agra, is an impressive spiritual and architectural site. It is a white marble building often compared to the Taj Mahal. Thousands of tourists and devotees visit this site to seek blessings.

This mausoleum was constructed in honor of Param Purush Pooran Dhani Swamiji Maharaj, the founder of the Radha Soami faith. This site not only serves as a place of worship but is a testament to the artistry and devotion of its creators as well.

Architecture

Radha Soami Samadhi is an architectural project known for its unique design and long construction time. The mausoleum is primarily built using white marble from Makrana in Rajasthan. It features a 110-foot-high structure made entirely of white marble. Hindu, Christian, Sikh, and Buddhist styles are reflected in the intricate carvings and inlaid stone designs. Its dome is larger than the Taj Mahal's, revealing the intricate craftsmanship that has been going on for over a century.

The mausoleum features a 31.4-foot gold-plated pinnacle, which is taller than the one on the Taj Mahal. Its interior walls are decorated with emerald, sapphire, and turquoise pietra. Additionally, there is a Bhajan Ghar on the site where spiritual practices and Satsangs are held.

History

Soami Bagh is the mausoleum of the Radhasoami founder, Huzur Soami Ji Maharaj. The construction of this mausoleum took 100 years. In 1861, Soami Ji Maharaj founded the Radhasoami faith to amalgamate various world religions. The site serves as a spiritual hub for followers, hosting daily Satsangs and special festivals.

Location: The Soami Bagh is located in the Dayalbagh area of Agra, approximately 11 km away from the Taj Mahal.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit Soami Bagh is during the winter months, from October to March when the weather is pleasant and suitable for outdoor exploration. Due to the extreme heat, it's advisable to avoid visiting during the peak summer months.

You should also visit during the monsoon season. It is more pleasant than summer, although occasional rain showers may occur during this period.

It is about 8.3 km from Agra Cantt Railway Station and 12.5 km from Kheria Airport. Visitors can take a taxi, Ola/Uber, or auto-rickshaw from these points to reach Soami Bagh.

The nearest bus stop is Idgah Bus Stand, which is around 8.8 km away. It is the main bus stop in the city. Upon reaching the bus stop, tourists can take the E-Rickshaws or a taxi from there to reach the mausoleum.
