To celebrate the myriad colors of Mother Nature and the zeal of the spring season, The Garden Tourism Festival was started in Delhi in the year 2004. It was inaugurated by the Former Chief Minister, Late Mrs. Sheila Dixit at the Garden of Five Senses, located at Westend Marg, Saiyad ul Ajaib, Saket, New Delhi. The festival organized by the Delhi Tourism Board is a profound and wonderful exhibition of flowers of different varieties which are displayed during the festival.
The Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC) along with the Delhi Government’s Tourism Department on Friday, 19th February 2021 has started the Annual Garden Tourism festival at the Garden of Five Senses
A Glance at the Event
At the Garden Tourism Festival, there is a vigorous show of several kinds of flowers such as roses, dahlias, as well as potted plants, home plants, different varieties of bonsais, about more than a thousand different varieties of Chrysanthemum and Ikebana. The flower show also has cultural performances that bring more life to the festival. Over several years, this festival has become the biggest flower show in Delhi as participants include horticulture, floriculture, nurseries, societies, and suppliers of the horticultural equipment, seeds, fertilizers, etc. into the show.
There are also other events at the Garden Tourism Festival, such as painting competitions for children, art camps for the young artists of the region, and other cultural programs such as ‘Kavi sammelan’, highlighting the festival. The Garden Tourism Festival also focuses on creating and strengthening the amity between different countries. The best part is that this annual flower festival used to conclude within one week, but now it has been continued for three weeks this year. This 3-week Annual Garden Tourism Festival Delhi is best to enjoy with family, friends, and couples.
