About Morgan House
Initially, Morgan House was known as Singamari Tourist Lodge or Durpin Tourist Lodge. Historical as the bungalow is, there is exquisite background associated with it. Believed to be loved by a wealthy jute merchant of England – Mr. Morgan, this mansion came into being somewhere in 1930. It is said that Mr. Morgan gifted this glorious house to his wife as a wedding present. In the next nine years, it will be celebrating its century!
In the top room, Lady Morgan resided. Everything that she used was kept in the room a few years before. From here, you can also capture a fantastic view of the lofty Himalayas. As a bonus, the extensive range of Kanchenjungha is also visible from here.
It has 10 rooms that are well-kept for the convenience and comfort of its guests. The cozy cocoons are equipped with a mirror, television, wardrobe, attached bathroom with a hot/cold running water facility, and wake-up call service. Other facilities include airport transfers (surcharge), luggage storage space, front desk assistance (limited hours), and room service (limited hours). Its well-manicured lawns are home to colorful flowers that make your stay all the more delightful. The lawn also houses some rare flowers.
