Deolo Hill

Deolo Hill is one of the most beautiful gifts of nature to the best attractions of Kalimpong. It is located in the Northeastern part of town. Deolo Hill Kalimpong is one of the 2 hills between which the town is sandwiched, the other one being Durpin Hill.

On a clear day, if you hike up to the top of the hill, you can witness beautiful views of the surroundings, the town, the River Teesta, and the beautiful Relli Valley. If you arrive early in the morning, sunrise views of Khangchendzonga from the park on the top of the hill are simply amazing.

The park, built on the summit of Deolo Hill, is ideal for recreational purposes. It is the highest point in the town, with a height of 1,704 m above sea level. There is also a tourist lodge in the park complex where visitors can relish sumptuous breakfast. Later, you can enjoy a downside walk to Kalimpong through Dr. Graham’s Home.

Best Time to Visit Deolo Hill

It is a year-round destination that you can visit at any time of the year. However, in monsoon, you will have to take care a little bit while trekking on the hill as the path is slippery due to heavy rains. Otherwise, you can enjoy your summer and winter. If you are visiting here in the morning, you can spot the beautiful views of the mountains and enjoy the sunrise.
