Why was Auli Artificial Lake created?

The government developed this artificial lake to ensure the ski slopes are always covered with snowfall. If there is a ski event or low snowfall during certain seasons that may hinder tourism for this ski hotspot, they can use the water from this lake to feed the snow guns. These guns are placed along the slopes of skiing and therefore, helps in a smooth skiing experience.

Auli Artificial Lake is located near Clifftop Auli, 2 km from GMVN tourist rest house and a short trek will lead you to the lake.

Timings and Entry Fee

You can visit anytime between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. There is no entry fee to visit the lake.

You can visit both in summer and winter. During summer, the weather remains pleasant and the lake turns into a gorgeous color of blue. And in winter, the entire area around the lake is covered in snow, making the color of the lake shine even more.
