Bugyal is located at a height of 3056 m above sea level and looks stunningly snuggled amidst oak forests and the high peaks. Apart from trekking, you can also come here for camping. The location is perfect and you get to witness the most breathtaking scenery in Uttarakhand.

Best time to visit Gorson Bugyal
Gorson Bugyal is a winter trek but people also tend to do it in the warmer months. Whether it’s summer or winter, the entire region looks magnificent. In winters, it becomes a winter wonderland and is a sight you cannot miss. However, the snow-laden paths can make the trek a bit difficult but it will be totally worth it when you reach here.
The best way to trek to Gorson Bugyal is via Auli. Start early in the morning to reach the top at the right time and enjoy the views. It is also a kilometer away from Chattrakund, known for its sweet water lake. You can cover this as well.
Note: If you decide to camp at Gorson Bugyal, remember there will be no electricity. Also, the last place you will find an ATM will be Auli. So, make sure to carry cash with you.
How to reach Gorson Bugyal
There are two ways to reach Gorson Bugyal –
- By Ropeway: It starts from Joshimath and takes you to the last tower. From there, Gorson Bugyal is just 1.5 km away.
- By Road: You can take a bus or taxi from Haridwar or Rishikesh to Joshimath. From here, take a taxi further to Auli and then trek for 3 km to reach Gorson Bugyal.
