Char Dham Yatra in summer – From April till June
Months between April and June mark the summer season in Char Dham. The temperature in this season remains around 7°C – 20°C. Climate is pleasant. Also, the gates of all the four shrines are opened to the public starting in May. Thus, it is best to plan the Char Dham Yatra 2024.
Char Dham in Monsoon – From July till September
Although monsoon brings a new life to the area, visiting the Char Dham is not recommended. Heavy rainfall in July and August makes the area prone to landslides. However, during September, there are mild post-monsoon showers. So, after avoiding July and August, September can be considered suitable for traveling to Char Dham.
Char Dham in Winter – October to March
Climatic conditions become harsh during the winter months. Heavy snowfall blocks the routes leading to the four shrines. Also, the temperature level drops to a sub-zero level. Therefore, Char Dham Yatra closed and becomes inaccessible from November to March. However, one can still plan a trip in October.
