Situated along the banks of a picturesque lake, the tranquil town of Pushkar is an important pilgrimage spot for the Hindus. Legends has it that the creator of the universe, Lord Brahma performed Yagna at Pushkar and the town’s three sacred lakes were sprouted by the falling of rose petals from the hands of the Lord himself.
Owing to such a belief, Pushkar has attained a divine position amongst the top pilgrimage destinations in India. The town is home to the only temple of Lord Brahma in the country and in the world, which is one of its popular tourist attractions.
