Located at a distance of 17 km from Munnar in the lofty Western Ghats, Top Station is the highest viewpoint of the hill station, at an altitude of 1700 m, lying on the Munnar-Kodaikanal road. Top Station in Munnar derives its name from the highest railway station here, which is in Kundala Valley. The place also has a historical connection. In olden times, it was a transshipment point from where tea was delivered to Mattupetty and Munnar by train and later dropped down to Kottagudi rope.
