One of the most known holy places at the confluence of three rivers the Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati, Sangam is visited by thousands every year. The actual location of Sangam is better known as Triveni, located on the banks of River Ganges and Yamuna. At the point of the nexus Ganges is a mere 4 feet deep whereas Yamuna’s depth is around 40 feet.

Sangam is also famed for the place which is believed to be the place where according to the Hindu mythology nectar fell out of the pitcher from the hands of the Almighty. So the myth followed that a wash in Sangam will wash away all the sins. It is also the place to find the clear way to heaven after death and getting out of the eternal cycle of life and death.

The place is also the host to the famous and very sacred Kumbh Mela that takes place after a period of 12 years. This mela brings together more than 30 million pilgrims in Sangam from all across the world and turns the place as one of the largely populated temporary cities of the world.

Reaching the place is not a troublesome job as Allahabad is brilliantly connected with the various parts of the country via railways. Sangam is also easily accessible from various parts of Allahabad by Auto-rickshwas, Taxis or Buses. The site of confluence is located at a distance of 12 kilometers from the railways station.
