The nectar of health, freshness and warmth, Tea is an important part of the lifestyle in Nilgiris. Every year, a Tea and Tourism Festival is organized in Ooty. The hill station lovingly known as the ‘Queen of Nilgiris’ is an emerald oasis with landscapes of lush green tea gardens as far as the eye can see. History

Tea and Tourism has been giving recognition to the beautiful Ooty since the colonial era. Tea has been grown in the blessed slopes since tea was discovered. To celebrate the elixir, he Department of Tourism, Government of Tamil Nadu and Ministry of Tourism, Government of India came up with the idea of a tea festival. It has been organized since two decades. Earlier the festivities were limited to the tea growers and workers. The annual Tea and Tourism Festival during the months of January-February in the Nilgiris. The festival is held for 3 days. Varieties of tea are on display. Visitors can also taste and select from the wide varieties of tea available.

By Air
