Framed by the backdrop of blue Nilgiri mountains, Karamdai Ranganathar temple is one of the ancient 16th century temples that were built in the city of Coimbatore. It is believed that the renowned temple was one of the architectural jewels of the Vijayanagar kingdom and was built by the great Krishnadevaraya.

To be precise, the Karamdai temple is located around 20 kms from the city of Coimbatore on the road to Ooty in Tamil Nadu. As the name says it all, the ancient temple has the idol of Lord Ranganathar as its main deity. Besides, the temple also houses those of Lord Ranganayaki and Venkatesa Perumal.

There are certain festivals, which are celebrated with great zeal and honor at the Karamdai Ranganathar temple. Attracting thousands of pilgrims every year, the list of auspicious festivals of the temple comprises Vaikunda Ekadhasi, Thiruther, Navrathri, Temple Car Festival and Purattasi Saturdays. During these times in Karamdai temple, various ceremonies, processions and special poojas are conducted.
