Ideal for wildlife-enthusiasts, Sariska is known for its tiger reserve and a national park. It is located in the Alwar District and is a popular tourist attraction of Rajasthan. Leopard, golden jackal, chital, four-horned antelope, hanuman langur, golden-backed woodpecker etc are found here along with tigers. Other than a profuse wildlife, Kankwadi Fort and Sariska Palace are two major attractions of Sariska.
During the historical era, kings of Alwar went to Sariska Palace and used it as a royal hunting lodge. Pandupol amid the hills here is believed to be one of the retreats of Pandava. This is a popular pilgrimage site of Sariska which also has a Hanuman Temple.
