The Rishabhdevji temple in Dhulev is 64 kms from Udaipur. This temple, positioned along the bank of the Koyal River, holds a special significance for people of that area. As the pilgrims enter the temple complex they are welcomed by the elephants made of black stone.

On the north is the image of Goddess Chakreshvari and on the southern side, there is an image of goddess Padmavati.

The Rishabhdevji temple dates back to the 15th century. It was believed that the heartfelt wishes of the devotees were granted at the temple. It also features some unique historical architectural edifices.

Rishabhdevji temple in Dhulev comprises of cloisters or the residence that is a place of religious seclusion on the side houses small images of tirthankaras. As you pass through the stairs, you shall come across the Navchauki. The idol of Lord Rishabdev is 35 feet high and is placed on a 1.25 feet high stone.

At the centre one can see the two bulls around an image of the goddess, in addition to statues of elephants and lions. Inside the area sixteen dreams of Lord Rishabdev’s mother has been depicted beautifully.

The other attractive features of the Dhulev Rishabhdevji Temple includes the Navgarh composed of nine images, the holy throne (singhasana) and the golden door, the high spired domes, and the spirals of the temple. As per the rites and rituals in this temple comprise of shuddhi in which water and milk is used.

To make the atmosphere clean, pure and fit for devotion, the area is incensed with fragrance. Religious assemblies are held regularly with devotional hymns. The decorated images are called by several names.

The bhils recognize this black stone image by the name of Kalaji. The image also called ‘Dhulevdhani’ because of its location at Dhulev. A lot of saffron is presented here as offering to the Lord and thus the name ‘Kesariaji’. In proximity to the Rishabhdevji temple in Dhulev are many more places of interest such as Pagyaji, Chandragiri, Bhim Pagalya, Bhattarak, Kirti Bhavan and the Peepli temple. Every year a Rath – Yatra and fair is organized where hundreds of devotees come and offer their prayers.

The best way to reach this temple is by road or rail from Udaipur which is about 64 kms away from the Dhulev Rishabhdevji Temple.
