Forts and Palaces in Chittorgarh

Popular as the most historically significant city of Rajasthan, Chittorgarh houses several forts and palaces which are evidences to number of historical happenings of ancient era. These forts and palaces provide detailed information about the royal era of Rajasthan. There structures and features depict Rajasthani style of architecture.

One of the most important forts in Chittorgarh is Chittorgarh fort; a World Heritage site boasting of seven gates, imposing monuments, towers, water bodies, majestic palaces and holy temples. The major attractions of Chittorgarh fort are Victory tower, Kirti Stambha and Meera Temple. All attractions are lined-up with exquisitely adorned interiors and exhibit Rajput styles.

Other major attractions of Chittorgarh fort include- Padmini’s Palace, a white three storied building put up amidst the lotus pond. The magnificent place reminds us of the elegant beauty of Rani Padmini. Another important attraction is Rana Kumbha’s Palace; put up by Rana Kumbh it is one of the striking palaces in Chittorgarh. It is believed that all important meetings and gatherings were handled here.
