Kanha National Park, located in the Banjar and Halon valleys in Madhya Pradesh is one of the best known tiger reserves in the world. Yet another short excursion from Kanha is the Pench Tiger Reserve and National Park, located on the southern boundary of Madhya Pradesh. Named after the Pench river which flows through the park, this wildlife safari park was included in the Project Tiger in 1992. The wildlife species commonly found here include Tigers, Leopards, Cheetal, Sambar and Nilgai that graze on the open areas on roadsides and banks of the river and reservoir.

Another place to be included in your itinerary while on Excursions from Kanha is Bedaghat – famous for its Marble Rocks that rise to a hundred feet on either side of the Narmada River.
