Kanha National Park, located in the Banjar and Halon valleys in Madhya Pradesh is one of the best known tiger reserves in the world. Yet another short excursion from Kanha is the Pench Tiger Reserve and National Park, located on the southern boundary of Madhya Pradesh. The wildlife species commonly found here include Tigers, Leopards, Cheetal, Sambar and Nilgai that graze on the open areas on roadsides and banks of the river and reservoir.
