Minicoy Island is 398 km away from Trivandrum, Kerala. You can take a ferry from here to the island. The nearest airport is well-linked in the isle with the mainland. Also, Lakshwadweep’s only civilian airport is Agatti Aerodrome. You can avail of helicopter service from Agatti to Minicoy. You can also cover this route by flight from Cochin to Agatti, which takes about 1 hour 30 minutes and flights are available six days per week. Minicoy Island can be reached by seven passenger ships – MV Kavaratti, MV Arabian Sea, MV Lakshadweep Sea, MV Lagoon, MV Corals, MV Amindivi, and MV Minicoy, which operate between Cochin and Lakshadweep islands.

Where to Eat in Minicoy Island

The Minicoy Resort has food arrangements in the courtyard at the entrance itself. The food served here is mainly Keralite. Tuna fish – grilled, baked, or fried – is mostly available. You can have spiced coconut rich vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian food. If you wish to savor the Minicoy specialty then you have to give advance notice. Alcohol is not allowed on this island.

Shopping in Minicoy Island

There are no shopping places on this island except Thele Fole Tea Shop. It can be found at the left-most peak of the island. The best things to buy in Minicoy Island are tea, Laccadive sea backdrop, and local snacks.
