Suryanarayana Temple is one of the most sacred temples dedicated to Sun God in India. Located in Domlur, Bangalore, the temple was built back in the year 1995 by Shri Patel D.R Krishna Reddy.

The temple features typical Chola architecture. There is a huge tower in the temple which has a number of colorful figures on it. There is a huge idol of the presiding deity that is 3.25 feet high. The idol was brought from Badrinath Temple along with an ornate arch to this temple long back.

There are idols of Kashyapa and Aditi placed below the idol. There are many more idols placed near the main idol such as those of Lord Brahma, Nagaraja, Ugranarasimha, Goddess Saraswati, Goddess Vaishnavi, Panchamukhi Ganesha and Adi Sheshasayi.

Thousands of devotees visit the temple every year to seek the blessings of Sun God. The best time to visit the temple is during the annual fair of Suryanarayana Swamy which is held every year in the month of January on Rathasaptami day. During the festival, a 32- feet long chariot carrying the idol of Sun God is brought which is pulled by pilgrims.

You can also visit Lord Shiva Temple at Murugeshpalaya which is located nearby. Suryanarayana Temple is located at a distance of 8 km from Bangalore city which makes it easily accessible via bus and car.
