Located in the magnificent Manikyavelu Mansion, a century-old mansion of the Raja of Mysore, National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) has world-class art on display, which is showcased in the form of permanent collection as well as changing exhibitions. As you walk, you can do nothing but admire the display of priceless and timeless works of art by extremely talented artists.

Huge old trees and a massive fountain in the center of the mansion add a charm to the place. Spread in an area of 3.5 acres of an area, the museum is a treasure house of art, from traditional Indian art to contemporary Indian art.

The art works in the National Gallery have been displayed in such as a manner that you do not find it difficult to walk easily from work of one century to the other. There are paintings, prints, sculptures and much more, pointing out at the rich cultural history of the train.

NGMA has art works of renowned artists like Raja Ravi Verma, Amrita Sher-gil, Rabindranath Tagore, Jamini Roy, Gagendranath Tagore and so on. For the modern artists, there is a separate wing that has art works of M F Hussain, Arpita Singh, S H Raza, Yussuf Arrakal, Nalini Malini, Raju Rai, Krishen Khanna, etc.
