Nalanda is one of the important cities to visit in the Indian state of Bihar. The city is majorly visited for its famed Nalanda University which is believed to be established in 5th Century by then rulers. Nalanda also boasts of tourists sites which hold great historical and religious importance. 

Travelling to Nalanda is not a big deal as you can easily reach the city via rail, air and road. The place is well-connected to major cities of India including Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Vishakhapatnam.

 

By Air

Located at a distance roughly 92 km away from Nalanda, Lok Nayak Jayaprakash International Airport, Patna is the nearest airport. Regular flights operate from Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Banglore. Taxi services are available from airport to reach Nalanda.

 

By Rail

Around 400m away, Nalanda has its own railway station as Nalanda railway station. There are a number of trains that connect Nalanda to important cities of India like Lucknow, Moradabad, Pune, Patna, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Bangalore.  Further you can take a bus or a taxi to travel to your destination.   

 

By Road

Nalanda is well-connected by road to all major cities of the country such as Hajipur (142km), Asansol (311km), Ranchi (258km), Patna (91km), Varanasi (314km) and Allahabad (423km).
