One of the holy theerthams in Tirumala, Pandava Theertham is well-known for its divinity and sacredness. The place is located at the bottom of the hill and it is just opposite the Narishma Hill.
The place owes its name to the life and story of Mahabharata. When the Pandavas and Kauravas fought with each other, Pandavas won. But, then they had to wash away the sin of killing their own relatives, elders and acharyas. When they questioned Shri Krishna, he told, that they can wash off their sins in the lake which is located at the end of hill, Venkata. So, the Pandavas took a bath in the same lake to wash their sins. The place today is called Pandava Theertham.
