Also well-known by the name of Borivali National Park, it nurtures a varied range of fauna and flora. Located close to the city, this park, on a sprawling land of 104 sq kms, draws a large number of tourists throughout the year. You may find various species of birds like golden orioles, jungle owlets, racket-tailed drongos, magpies, minivets, robins, hornbills, sunbirds, bulbuls, woodpeckers and peacock. At times, migratory as well as resident birds like kingfisher, paradise flycatcher, mynas, swifts, drongos, gulls, herons and egrets are also sighted here. According to wildlife experts, 251 types of birds including both land and water birds are found at this place.

This park also plays host to South Indian humid deciduous as well as Semi Evergreen forests. These two categories are further divided into four subcategories. It consists of mangrove scrub, teak-bearing forest, southern moist and mixed humid forest in addition to western subtropical forest. The region boasts of good biodiversity as well as a variety of trees and plants like shisam, teak, kadamba, karanj, and some kinds of ziziphus, acacia, euphorbia, red silk cotton and some other sorts of flowers. During the period of monsoon, nearly the entire park gets beautifully decorated by blooming flowers, which is a rare visual treat.
