Road Transport in Kaziranga:- The main gate of Kaziranga National Park is at Kohora, on the NH-37. Assam Road Transport Corporation buses bound to and from Guwahati, Tezpur, Jorhat, Furkating, and Upper Assam pass through Kohora. These buses stop at Kohora. Long-distance night coaches run by private operators from Guwahati and Jorhat also stop here on request. The Tourist Department, Kaziranga Forest Lodge, has a reservation quota of 10 seats on the Kaziranga Express from Golaghat to Guwahati. Taxis on rent are also available.
Rail Transport in Kaziranga:- the railhead nearest to Kaziranga is Furkating. It is at a distance of 75 km from the park.
Air Transport in Kaziranga:- The airport nearest to Kaziranga is situated at Guwahati, at a distance of 217-km from the park. There is another airport at Jorhat, 97-km from Kaziranga.
Transport inside the park:- inside the Kaziranga National Park, elephants and jeeps are the only modes of transportation. Elephant safaris are pretty popular and safe because other sports hold the elephant in high esteem and do not dare to proceed much closer. However, on a jeep safari, you can cover a longer distance, but of course, at the cost of the sounds of the jungle, which are deafened by the sound of the jeep engine. Walking on foot inside the park is strictly prohibited on safety grounds.
