Eravikulam National Park, located on the Western Ghats is a popular Wildlife Sanctuary in Kerala. It is built over 97 square kilometers and was established with the primary motive to protect and conserve endangered Nilgiri Tahr, specie of wild goat.

It has been recorded that now Eravikulam National Park is the only Wildlife Sanctuary that houses the largest number of Nilgiri Tahr in the world. The birth season of the Nilgiri Tahr is between January and February.
Eravikulam Happenings also include the mass flowering of the shrubs. The shrubs of the region bloom every twelve years and this is a sight to experience. The land is covered by beautiful shrubs. Neelakurunji, or the mass flowering is expected in the year 2006.
