Bandipur National Park is located in Chamarajanagar district in Karnataka. Gifted with a comfortable climate and varied geographical features, this wildlife sanctuary in Karnataka has a remarkable variety of flora and fauna, making it an absolute heaven for wildlife in India.

It also happens to be one of the few reserves where you could avail the elephant safari in India. The diverse habitats consisting of open dry deciduous forests, scrub forest and tropical mixed deciduous forests support an enormous diversity of animal life. Some of the major draws of this reserve include elephant, tiger, chital and grey langur.

Bandipur is also known for its abundant bird species.  Sprouting grass in the attract elephants. The backwaters of the Kabini Reservoir in the northwestern portion of the park host huge flock of large mammals. If you are planning your wildlife tour in South India at this sanctuary, the best time to visit Bandipur National Park is October till March.
