Valley of Flowers National Park is an amazing getaway from Delhi, located at a distance of 441 km. The national park is praised for providing shelter to various conserved and threatened species of flora and fauna. Apart from numerous mammals, reptiles and insects, the national park is praised for featuring almost 520 species of higher plants, which includes 498 flowering plant species. From Govind Ghat, there also are various small and strenuous treks are organized. Valley of Flowers is an ideal destination for travelers with a keen interest in wildlife and trekking.

Nanda Devi National Park

Nanda Devi National Park, sprawled over a large expanse, is a must visit to explore the rich flora and fauna. The national park is a treat for wildlife enthusiast and nature lovers.

Hemkund Sahib

Hemkund Sahib is one of the significant Sikh pilgrimage sites in India. The Gurudwara is located close to the Hamkund Lake, and roaring hills in the background provide a scintillating scene for the visitors to enjoy. There also is Lakshman Temple, located close to the Gurudwara.

Trekking

From Govind Ghat, the trek begins to reach the valley. The trek takes you to the crisscross trails that are adorned with beautiful shrubbery and fields. After 3 km of trek, Pulna is a small stopover. Further from here, the trek features marvelous streams, snowy peaks, and gushing cascade.

  • Mammals: Flying Squirrel, Red Fox, Grey Langur, Himalayan Musk Deer, Himalayan Black Bear, Himalayan Thar, Himalayan Yellow-Throated Marten, Brown Bear, Himalayan Weasel, Blue Sheep, Himalayan Goral, Leopard, Indian Chevrotain, etc.
  • Birds: Lammergeier, Koklass Pheasant, Yellow Billed Choughs, Scaly-Bellied Woodpeckers, Himalayan Vulture, Yellow-Nape Woodpeckers, Red Billed Choughs, Bluethroated Barbets, Himalayan Monal Pheasant, Snow Pigeon, Great Barbets, Spotted Dove, etc.
