Khatu Shyamji is an important religious destination that is located in the state of Rajasthan. The temple has a lot of significance for many people from the Hindu religious community and other parts of the country. The village is home to the famous Shyam Baba. The main attraction of this temple is that the fair is held in the month of February and March. The fair generally took place in the month of February and March. It occurs during the Phalgun Dashmi and lasts for a period of three days.

Attractions in Khatu Shyamji

Khatushyamji Temple

Built out of the famous Makrana marble, Khatushyamji Temple is located in the heart of the town. The temple is dedicated to Barbareek, the grandson of Bhima. In Rajasthan, he is worshipped as Khatushyamji and is considered as the God of Kaliyuga. He is also known as Khatu Naresh, Sheesh ke Dani, Teen Baan Dhari and Baba Shyam. 

Shyam Kund

Located close to the Khatu Shyamji Temple, Shyam Kund is the holy pond from where the head of Barbareek was retrieved. It is said that a dip in the pond can cure people from ailments and keep them healthy.  

Shyam Bagichi

Shyam Bagichi is a blessed garden close to the Khatu Shyamji Temple. From here only, people pick up flowers to offer to the deity. The premise of this garden houses the Samadhi of Lt. Alu Singhji’s.

Gourishankar Temple

Located close to the Khatu Shyamji’s Temple, Gourishankar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. There is a popular legend about this temple which says that the soldiers of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb’s soldiers wanted to destroy the temple and attacked Shiva Linga with a spear. It is said that the blood spurted from the Shiva Linga and the soldiers ran away.

Khatu Shyamji Fair

Khatu Shyamji Fair is held in reverence of Khatu Shyamji, which is actually worshipped as the Lord of Kaliyuga. It is a popular annual that takes place during the months of February and March. The Khatu Shyamji Fair lasts for three days. Devotees and visitors can partake in various activities such as shopping of local items such as dolls, Rajasthani craftwork and various sweet delicacies.
