Located on the banks of river Godavari, Bhadrachalam is a small yet beautiful town in the southern part of the Andhra Pradesh state. A well-known religious spot, this town is flocked by the devotees of Lord Rama every year in large numbers from all around the state. Abhaya Anjaneya Temple

Built in the year 1998, Sri Abhaya Anjaneya temple in Seethammadhara is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. The temple has marble floor and walls with beautiful carved images of various deities.  Taken care of by a trust, the complex of the temple has enchanting sculptures of various gods and goddesses. The temple is flocked by devotees on every Tuesday.


Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy Temple

Dedicated to Lord Rama, Sree Seetharamachandra Swamy Temple in Khammam is a 17th century temple, which was constructed by Gopanna. An important religious spot of the region, this temple has walls that have been decorated with images of different incarnations of Lord Vishnu. This temple is located close to a number of important sites, connected to the days of Ramayana. During March-April, the temple becomes the venue of Sreeramanavami festival.


Parnasala

The village of Parnasala is known for its religious significance and is also quite popular as a picnic spot. As per the legends, it is the  place where Lord Rama, his consort Site and brother Laxman had spent a few years during their 14-year exile. There hut, a major attraction, is still located here. There are colorful painted sculptures of Lord Rama, Sita, Laxman and Ravana. Treat your eyes to the lush greenery spread all around.


Bhadrachala Rama Temple

Situated around 35 km from Bhadrachalam, Bhadrachala Rama Temple is a beautiful temple, dedicated to Lord Rama. Along with a mesmerizing idol of the Lord, the temple complex has other small temples, dedicated to other Hindu deities, Narasimha and Lord Shiva, being two of them. Within the temple complex there is a small museum as well, consisting of beautiful jewellery pieces.


Jattayu Pakka

Just 2 km away from Bhadrachalam town, Jattayu Pakka is a legendary location, also known as Yetapaka. According to Hindu mythological legends, Jattayau-the Kind of Eagles had attacked Kind Ravana when he had abducted Sita. Ravana, to him ward him off, had cut his wings. It is believed to be the very site of the fight Jatayu and Ravana.
