Kolaba Fort

Built by Shivaji Maharaj, the fort is situated at a distance of 2 km from the seashore, in the sea. The fort could only be visited during low tides. The fort features sweet water well and numerous temples. There also are fortifications, which include guns facing the sea. The fort is said to be about 300 years old. On the entrance arch, visitors can also find carvings of peacocks, elephants and tigers. There also are shrines of Padmavathi, Mahishasura, Fort Deity and other Gods. In 1759, a Ganesh Temple was also built in front of the sweet water well.

Alibag Beach

Alibag Beach is a popular and major beach of the town. The sand of the beach here is black in color. The beach hustles and bustles right from morning to evening. The beach is one of the major attractions in the region.

Kanakeshwar Devasthan Temple

Located at a distance of 13 km from Alibaug, the Temple is another major attraction worth a visit. The temple is devoted to Lord Shiva. Situated at an altitude of 900 ft on a hill, one has to climb around 5000 well-paved stairs. The temple premises include various small temples. The idol of the main deity is of 54 ft in height.
