When & Where to Visit in Haridwar
Summers in Haridwar (March-June)
March is considered the ideal month because the temperature is neither too hot nor too cold. Skies are blue amidst the daytime, and in the evening, golden hues of sunset can be seen on the Ghats where the Ganga Aarti ceremony is performed. March marks the celebration of Ramnavami in Haridwar. The commencement of April marks plenty of sunshine, and days tend to get warmer than the March month.
But it doesn’t affect the outdoor trips. When the May months start, the temperature turns hot in the evening, but nights are relatively comfortable. Therefore, it is suggested to embark on evening sightseeing during the May month in Haridwar. Tourists must attend the evening Aarti ceremony followed by the holy bath.
The Haridwar turns into complete sunshine in June, and days are mildly overcast. If you plan to visit Haridwar during June, attend the Saavan festival. However, the sunlight may eradicate your plans for sightseeing because the temperature remains hot during the day. But one can pray for peace in the evening at the temple and explore old monuments.
Minimum & maximum temperature in summers: 26°C-40°C (approx.)
Tip to be noted:Wear a hat and apply sunscreen on your body if you plan for day sightseeing during summers in Haridwar.

Roaring clouds and cobalt blue skies eradicate the warm summer winds. Downpour starts, which makes Haridwar landscapes a sight to behold. It is when the accommodation price drops because most sightseeing and activities remain shut due to heavy rainfall.
However, the month of June marks the important religious gathering of Kanwar Mela. Therefore, it is best to be aware that July to September are the months when rainfall tends to happen in massive amounts. The average downpour days in July is 24 days (approx.), August is 25 days (approx.), and September is 21 days (approx.)
