Khimsar Fort
In the late 18th century, Rao Karamsiji, the eighth son of Rao Jodha, the founder of Jodhpur, built Khimsar Fort, which is now a premium heritage hotel. The construction of the fort began in 1523. It is situated amid sand dunes and spreads over 11 acres of lush land with huge courtyards and orchards. Later, Thakur Onkar Singh built a zenana (ladies) wing and a private regal wing. Khimsar’s royal family still resides in a portion of the fort. The hotel features luxurious rooms and huts, fine food, and modern amenities. Everything about this hotel is lavish, from its interiors to its exteriors to its services.
