Ans: Skiu is a small village in the Markha River Valley in Ladakh.

Q: Is there is any Airport / Railway Station near Skiu?

Ans: Leh airport is nearest airport to Skiu, however there is no railway station nearby – nearest railway station is in Chandigarh which is approx. 780 Kms. However, Leh is well connected by direct flights from Delhi.

Ans: You can reach Skiu during the trekking route with help of expert tour guide.

Ans: It will be Homestay or mobile camp.

Ans: Yes, It’s a famous trekking route and it’s also famous for Hemis National Park where you spot Snow Leopard.

Q: Best month to visit Skiu?

Ans: Summers are best time to visit Skiu or Leh (Ladakh). In other seasons, the climate will be very cold, temperature will go till (-20) or plus – Mid of June to End of August is best time to visit Skiu.

Q: What’s are the things we need to carry during Skiu trek?

Ans: First of all, you have to be FIT and healthy to do this trek – please find below the list of the things which you have to must carry during the trek.

Q: It is safe to travel Skiu with Senior Citizens?

Ans: We don’t recommend this trek for Senior Citizens as you are going on high attitude and you have to walk long with less oxygen and needs to carry your personal things.

Q: Do we allowed to Smoke or Drink during the Trek?

Ans: We don’t recommend to consume alcohol and smoke during the trek as you are on high attitude with less oxygen. Consuming Alcohol and smoking it can head to AMS (Acute Mountaineering Sickness).

Q: What kind of food we will get during the trek?

Ans: It will be pure vegetarian food with high protein – your trek guide will be your cook itself and prepare the food with available sources.

Q: What if we will sick during the trek?

Ans: We suggest to go for trek only when you are FIT – Still tour guide will carry some basic medicine and first aid kit for any uncertain illness.
