Itinerary Detail
On your arrival at Delhi Airport/Railway Station, get welcomed by our representative and thereafter transferred to the hotel. Check in, freshen up, and take a little rest. You may use the remaining hours exploring the local markets, enjoying scrumptious street food, taking leisure walks, etc.Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
In the morning, post breakfast, get ready to enjoy excursion to Old and New Delhi. Visit Red Fort, Gandhi Memorial, India Gate, Parliament House, Qutab Minar, Humayun Tomb, etc. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Post breakfast; get transferred to the Delhi Airport to board the flight for Leh. On your arrival at the Leh Airport, get welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel. You may enjoy the rest of the day taking gradual walks to the nearby streets, explore local markets, taste street food, talk to locals, etc. Later, return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
In the morning, after breakfast, get ready for sightseeing tour to various attractions of Leh. Visit Sankar Gompa, which is a daughter-establishment of Spituk Monastery. Later, proceed to Shanti Stup, white-domed Buddhist Stupa. Thereafter, visit Tsemo Castle to view the panoramic sight of the old Leh valley. In the evening, explore the colorful bazaars of Leh and buy traditional artifacts as souvenirs. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, drive towards Hemis around 45 km from Leh. En route visit Shey and Thiksey monasteries. Shey was the old capital and the home of the kings of Ladakh before the new capital became established in Leh. The palace sits in a strategic position on a spur jutting out into the Indus valley. Thiksey, this large Gompa is an impressive sight, situated on top of a craggy hill while the rest of the complex sprawls down beneath it. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Early morning, post breakfast, drive to Lamayuru. On the way, visit Saspol village, and Basgo & Rizong monasteries. At Saspol village explore the cave, rock cut temples, and paintings of Buddha. Later proceed to Basgo monastery that features murals and a statue of Buddha. Also visit “the paradise for meditation”, Rizong monastery, which is known for its extremely strict rules and standards. Reach your hotel at Lamayuru, check in, freshen up, and take a little rest. You may take gradual walks around the hotel late night. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, get ready to trek to Upshi. Walk downstream, along its east bed. After 30 minutes of walking, move on to a path that cuts uphill to some Stupas (chortens) and prayer flags. Cross over arid land to the south, following dry stream. Trek up to the bottom of the small gully. Later, trail to the Prinkiti La (3770m). After crossing this pass, descend till Upshi. Explore the nearby attractions, return to your tent for overnight camping.
In the morning, start your trek with heading upstream of the Fanjila (3300m), on the right hand side of the bank. For the two hours of trekking, this muddy river is the only source of water till you reach a group of houses at Hanle. The main trek to Alchi starts in the north-east to the Ripchar valley. You may also cross the Pechora River during your main trek. At Hanle, there are some meadows where you set your camps and halt for an overnight stay.
Your trek continues in the morning, towards the valley, with several crossings of side stream. Following the mainstream, pass over few camp sites. Arduous climb to the top of this pass is required to get the view of amazing Prinkiti La. Enjoy your dinner and halt at the base of Chokila for overnight camping.
In the morning, get ready to trek towards Sumdah. On the way, you may witness this isolated village and a small Gompa (monastery) where there are only two monks. This monastery comes under the Hemis jurisdiction. Later, you reach at a ruined Gompa far below in Sumdah. Halt here for an overnight camping.
Early morning, get ready to ascend towards a valley, nestled at the north-east of the village. This trek makes you travel along the side of a small tributary. There is also a small uneven flat area behind the huts, used as camping spot. The trek now gets arduous with every step as you may find giant steps that were formed in a past glacial age. Reaching another side of Stokpila, you may view the Temisgam Trek. Post dinner, overnight stay in your tents.
In the morning, get ready for 4 to 5 hours of trek to Alchi (3150m). As you cross the village, continue with your trail downwards to the road turning right. Reach the village monastery at Alchi. People from far off places, visit Alchi to witness the stunning iconography of its famously low lying Gompa. Accommodation and location with proximity with Likir & Saspol also add as attractive features of Alchi. Reach your guesthouse, check in, freshen up and take a little rest. You may use the remaining hours of the day exploring the nearby attractions. Return to the guesthouse for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast at the guesthouse, drive to Leh. En route visit various attractions of Alchi and Basgo. Visit famous Alchi monastery, which was built during the 11th century. This religious enclave (Choskor) is considered as treasure trove of early Buddhist art. This art is similar to the Kashmiri tradition and different from Tibetan art alike various other monasteries in Ladakh. You may also visit the ruins of history at Basgo. Reach your hotel at Leh, check in, freshen up, and take a little rest. You may use the remaining hours resting at the hotel or explore the nearby attractions. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
In the morning, get on-time assistance and transferred to Leh Airport to board flight for Delhi. On your arrival at the Delhi Airport, get transferred to your hotel. Check in, freshen up and take a little rest. Later in the evening, get transferred to Delhi Airport/Railway Station for your onward journey.
After reaching Delhi Airport/Railway Station, board the flight/train to continue with your onward journey.
