Ladakh Tour with Tsomoriri Lake

Arrive at the Leh Airport, where our representative will assist you with a transfer to the pre-decided hotel. After completing the check-in formalities, the day is scheduled for acclimatisation.

In the evening, stroll through the adjacent area or laze around in your room. You can even visit the Leh market to savour the local delicacies.

On day 2, have your breakfast and get ready for a full-day tour of the Indus Valley. You’ll be visiting the top attractions, including the Royal Museum at Shey Palace, located on a hilltop. The palace was an abode of the royal family till 1834 AD and comprises the Shey Monastery. The Gompa houses a copper statue of Lord Buddha, which is the main attraction. You can also spend some time with monks and learn some life lessons.

Then, proceed to Thiksey Monastery, which belongs to the Gelug sect of Tibetan Buddhism; this gompa is the largest monastery in the central Ladakh region. After that, you will visit Hemis Monastery, located on the bank of the Indus River. This monastery is India’s wealthiest and is among the biggest.

After a day of exploration, you will have an assisted transfer to the hotel. The rest of the evening is at your leisure. If time and energy permit, you can visit Leh’s local market, enjoy local food, and buy souvenirs for your loved ones.

Further, have a delicious dinner at the hotel and an overnight stay.

Today, after breakfast, check out and begin your road journey to Nubra Valley via the world-popular Khardungla Pass. At an altitude of 5,609 m above sea level, it is one of the highest motorable passes in the world. Stop at the mountain pass and click pictures, as reaching here is an achievement.

Afterwards, start your ride to Nubra Valley, and you will arrive here in the afternoon. Upon arrival, visit Diskit Monastery, the largest and the oldest Buddhist Gompa in Nubra Valley. You can spot the enormous 106-foot statue of Maitreya Buddha from far away, which is located here. The monastery houses murals, paintings, Thangkas, and frescoes of ancient times. You can also spend some time talking with the monks and learn about the history and culture of the region.
Then, head towards Hunder Sand Dunes; you can enjoy the ride on the back of the double-humped Camels known as Bactrian Camels. After enjoying the Camel Safari, you will have an assisted transfer to your pre-booked camp. Check-in at the deluxe camp and relax. The rest of the evening is at your leisure. You can take a walk near your accommodation and enjoy the sunset of the valley, which looks serene.

Your day 4 of the Ladakh Tour with Tsomoriri Lake is reserved for an excursion to Turtuk. Begin your day with a delicious breakfast, and then proceed for the sightseeing tour of Turtuk, which was once a part of the Baltistan region of Pakistan.

In 1971, India captured the village during the war with Pakistan. The locals speak the Balti language here as their ethnicity. Situated on the bank of the Shyok River and an oasis of the K2 mountain range, Turtuk is the northernmost village of India.

While exploring the village, you can interact with locals to listen to some of the fascinating stories about the 1971 war and how India captured this strategic village of the Gilgit-Baltistan region from Pakistan.

During the village tour, you can also learn about the Balti culture and heritage. This idyllic village is renowned for its world-class quality of apricots and walnuts. You can buy fruits and dry fruits from the village directly from the farms. Spend some time on the bank of the glistening Shyok River and delve into the serene aura of this beautiful place.

After the sightseeing tour of Turtuk, return to Hunder. The rest of the evening is at your leisure, and you can spend your time as you wish. Stroll near the hotel and enjoy the enchanting beauty of the region.

Have a lip-smacking dinner at the hotel and enjoy a sound sleep in your cosy bed.

After breakfast, check out of the hotel or camp and start for the Pangong Lake at 14,500 ft., through the Shyok River. Before beginning the Pangong journey, you will visit the Diskit Monastery, one of the most famous and oldest monasteries in Ladakh.

Enjoy the views of towering mountains during the journey from Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake. On arrival at Pangong, check in at the camp and be delighted by the sheer bliss of nature. Witness the change of colour of the Pangong Lake and the unmatched beauty of the sunset over the lake. Enjoy overnight camping at Pangong, the best camping site in Ladakh.

After exploring the Pangong Tso, return to the hotel and have breakfast. Then, complete the check-out formalities and start driving towards Tsomoriri Lake. En route, halt at Chumathang Hot Springs and take a dip, as the water is believed to have healing properties. Rejuvenate your senses here and spend some time.

Afterwards, continue with your drive and spot Himalayan marmots on the way. Evening arrival at the lake, you’ll check in at the tent camp. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

You can visit the lake in the evening to witness the changing hues of the lake and fall in love with nature all over again during this trip.

Later, return to the camp, have a delicious dinner, and enjoy a restful sleep in your cosy bed.

Day 7 starts with breakfast, and then you’ll check out from your staycation. Further, hit the roads to drive to Leh via Tso Kar Lake. On the way, take a halt to visit Puga Geo-Thermal Gas Springs and visit the Nomadic Rebo tents at Polo-Kongka La Pass.

After crossing the pass, stop by Tso Kar Lake, a wetland area. Stop here for photographs and to gaze at the serene environs. If you are interested, you can also visit the tiny Thukje village monastery and soak in this tranquil place’s spiritual aura.

Then, proceed towards Leh. On arrival, check-in at the hotel and relax. The rest of the evening at your leisure. An overnight stay in a hotel in Leh.

The day 8 of the Ladakh tour itinerary, have your breakfast and then get on a tour of the Hall of Fame, Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, Magnetic Hill, Kali Temple, and Sangam.

At Sangam, you can enjoy rafting on the Zanskar River. 
Further, the Hall of Fame is a must-visit for every patriotic Indian. It was built by the Indian army in memory of soldiers who lost their lives in the Kargil War.

In the afternoon, proceed towards Gurdwara Patthar Sahib, constructed in 1571 in memory of Guru Nanak to commemorate his visit to this region. Further, visit Magnetic Hill, where you will see your car, with its engine turned off, move upwards on a steep slope. It almost sounds unbelievable.

Then, continue driving through the lower valleys of Ladakh (Shyam) to visit the Alchi monastery. The Alchi Monastery, or Alchi Gompa, is a Buddhist monastery that comprises four separate settlements in the Alchi village. Of these four hamlets, Alchi monastery is said to be the oldest and most famous. The Likir Monastery administers it.
