6 Days Karnataka Bird Watching Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Bangalore
This tour of Karnataka bird watching starts as you reach Bangalore airport. On arrival, you will be welcomed by our tour representative. The tour representative will give you an assisted transfer to your pre-booked hotel. Once you reach your hotel, you will check in your hotel and unwind yourself in your room. Day 2: Bangalore Sightseeing Tour
Kickstart your day with a refreshing breakfast. After munching your meal, you will start your sightseeing tour of Bangalore. The first attraction that you will explore is Vidhana Soudha. It is a government building, which is built in Neo-Dravidian style. This structure is one of the most famous landmarks of Bangalore. Next, you will visit Lal Bagh Botanical Garden, one of the oldest and largest botanical gardens in India.
It is one of its kind that has planned routes, glasshouses, and is adorned with beautiful flowers. Next, you will visit Tipu's Palace, which is also known as the abode of peace. Apart from having a historical touch, this Palace has more to amaze you. You will be surprised to witness the impressive teakwood carvings and remarkable Indo-Islamic architecture. Later, you will explore one of Bangalore Palace, which is built in Tudor style and one of the must-visit attractions of Bangalore. After that, you will proceed to the hotel and have a mouth-watering dinner. Enjoy an overnight sleep on your comfy bed.
Day 3: Bangalore – Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary – Mysore
On the third day of your Karnataka Bird Watching Tour, you will travel from Bangalore to Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary. Wake up and have your crunchy morning meal in the hotel. Once you finish your breakfast, you will check out from the hotel to visit Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary. Which is 128 km from Bangalore and the road journey will take 3.5 hr (approx). In this Bird Sanctuary, you will spot a wide range of migratory birds that have flown from places like Siberia, Australia, and North America.
This bird Sanctuary is a hub of shag, white ibis, little egrets, little cormorants, spoonbills, open-billed storks, and many more. A tour of this bird sanctuary will allow you to witness the magnificent beauty of nature. Wild duck, kingfisher, cattle egret, lesser whistling teal, large cormorant, heron, and great stone plover are some of the famous creatures of this sanctuary. After exploring this, you will drive to Mysore. You will have to cover 19 km to get there. On arrival, follow the check-in formalities and enjoy your dinner. Hop onto the bed for a peaceful sleep.
Day 4: Mysore – Bandipur (78 km/ 1.5hr)
Get up early in the morning and enjoy your luscious breakfast. Once you finish your morning meal, you will go for the city tour of Mysore. You will do this tour by visiting Mysore Palace, which was the seat of the Kingdom of Mysore. This palace is located in the center of Mysore while facing Chamundi Hill, which glorifies its beauty. You will witness the exquisite architecture, which is an eye-catching element. After exploring this structure, you will visit Chamundi Hill, which is nestled at an altitude of 3,300 ft above sea level.
Next to this beautiful edifice, you will visit the Chamundi Hills, which is perched at an altitude of 3,300 feet above sea level. You will witness the stunning vistas from there and capture the stunning view. Enjoy the moment while gazing at this breathtaking scenery. Next, you will move to Chamundeshwari Temple, a famous tourist place here, which is located atop the hill.
This holy temple is dedicated to the Goddess Chamundi. The sanctum of this temple has a sculpted depiction of the goddess. Once you get blessings from the Goddess Chamundi, you will notice that you can admire the beauty of Mysore Palace from this hill. Later, you will proceed to Bandipur, which is around 78 Km from Mysore, and it takes around 1.5 hrs (approx) of the straight drive. You will reach your pre-booked resort. On arrival, you will complete the formalities of the check-in process and enjoy the rest of the day leisurely. Have a tasty dinner and get a sound sleep in your room.
Day 5: Bandipur National Park
Rise and shine in the early morning and relish your luscious breakfast. Today, you will enjoy a bird-watching tour with a guiding naturalist. On this tour of Bandipur National Park, you will spot several rare species of birds, like Grey Jungle Fowl and Red Spur Fowl. This national park is home to over 200 species of birds, including Indian vultures, flowerpeckers, hoopoes, Indian rollers, brown fish owls, and honey buzzards. There are some famous species of birds, like red-headed vultures, crested serpent eagles, changeable hawk-eagles, bee-eaters, and many kingfishers, which can be spotted commonly in the winter.
Return to your resort in the Afternoon to have lunch. Once you finish your meal, you will proceed on a Jeep safari in Bandipur National Park accompanied a naturalist. On this Jeep Safari, you will be able to witness several rare species of animals and plants. Sloth bears, Muggers, Indian rock pythons, Gray langurs, Indian giant squirrels, and Brown fish owls are thriving species of this national park. The diversity of flora and fauna makes Bandipur a must-visit destination. Get back to your resort and enjoy your palatable dinner. Have an overnight restful sleep.
Day 6: Bandipur – Bangalore (270 km/ 5hr)
Wake up with the sun and munch on a crunchy and delicious breakfast. Once done, you will explore the resort, which gives you a rare experience. Later this morning, you will get an assisted transfer to Bangalore airport for your onward journey.
