Itinerary Detail

Day 1: IXB Airport /NJP Railway Station – Kalimpong ( 75 Km / 3 Hrs.)

Pick up from Bagdogra Airport / Jalpaiguri railway station and transfer to Kalimpong. On arrival, check-in to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: Kalimpong – Pelling ( 77 Km / 3 Hrs.)

After breakfast, proceed for a local sightseeing tour of Kalimpong covering Mangal Dham, Deolo Hills, Dr. Graham’s Home, Golf Garden, Durpin Dara Hill, and Flower Nurseries. Afternoon drive to Pelling. On arrival, check-in to the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3: Pelling

After breakfast, for full-day sightseeing visit Kanchenjunga waterfalls, Sky Walk (own cost) and Khecheopalri Lake. After lunch, visit Darap Village, Orange garden, and Rabdentse Ruins. Afternoon, enjoy shopping in the local market. You can buy Buddhist flags, woven bamboo articles, colorful woolen scarves, Tibetan ornaments, and carpets can be included in your Pelling shopping list. You can also buy local spices like black cardamom, tea, walnuts, and oranges. Overnight stay at Pelling.

Day 4: Pelling – Gangtok

After breakfast, check-out from the hotel and leave for Gangtok en route visit Namchi. In Namchi, visit Chardham, Samdruptse and Temi Tea Estate. In the afternoon, reach Gangtok and check-in at the hotel. Rest of the day is free for leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5: In Gangtok

After breakfast, proceed for a day trip to Tsomgo Lake. Also known as Changu Lake, this glacial lake is a popular tourist attraction and is located on the road towards the Nathu La pass. Enjoy the beautiful surroundings here. The next visit is to Baba Mandir. This shrine is built in memory of a brave Indian soldier Harbhajan Singh, who died during the war near the Nathu La Pass. Return to Gangtok. The evening is free for leisure activities. Shop at the very popular foreign-style local market of Gangtok. Overnight stay at a hotel.

Optional: tour to Nathula Pass (Alt 14,000Ft.) on China Border can also be arranged (Except Mon and Tue) for Indian Nationals only at an additional cost.

Day 6: In Gangtok

After breakfast, go for a full-day city tour covering Tashi viewpoint, Ganesh Tok and Hanuman Tok, Bakthang Falls, Cottage Industry, Dro-Dul Chorten, Institute of Tibetology, Flower show, and Handicraft Centre. Overnight stay at Gangtok.

Day 7: Gangtok – Darjeeling ( 115 Km / 4 Hrs.)

Post breakfast, check-out from the hotel, and drive to Darjeeling. On arrival, check-in to a hotel. The rest of the day is free for leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 8: In Darjeeling

Early morning, leave to witness sunrise at the famous viewpoint of Tiger Hill. This is a major attraction amongst tourists. Post-breakfast, visit Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park (Closed on Thursday) to see some rare collections of high-altitude Himalayan species like the Snow leopard, clouded Leopard, Siberian Tiger, Red Panda, and many rare mammals and birds in the natural surroundings.

Visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday) to see the priceless collection of mountaineering gears used by legendary climbers in the Himalayas. Next, head to the Tea garden on the undulating valleys to view the scenic landscape and tea plucking and processing.

Visit Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. Also, visit the Japanese Temple dedicated to Lord Buddha and constructed in 1972. If you are lucky, you may be able to witness the puja at the time of your visit. Nearby is also the Peace Pagoda which has 4 avatars of Buddha – in the postures of sleeping, sitting, standing, and meditating. Don’t forget to visit the Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Center, which was established on 2 October 1959, for those who followed Dalai Lama and escaped from Tibet. The production of Tibetan handicrafts is the center’s main activity.

In the afternoon, enjoy shopping on your own at the local market. You can buy Hand knitted items, Cheap electronics, Handicrafts & Souvenirs, and Woolen clothes. Evening, you can spend time at the Mall. Overnight stay.

Day 9: Departure Darjeeling – IXB/NJP

Post-breakfast, get transferred to Bagdogra Airport / Jalpaiguri Railway Station for your onward journey.
