History Of Jaigarh Fort

The Jaigarh Fort was built in the early 18th century. Both Jaigarh and the Amer Fort are located in Amer, a city ruled by the Kachawaha family since the early 10th century. During the Mughal Empire, the fort served as a cannon foundry, ammunition storage, and a war materials depot.

Architecture Of Jaigarh Fort

The fort is surrounded by thick red sandstone walls, stretching over 3 kilometres in length and 1 kilometre in width. This wall is considered the third longest in the world. It also has several arrow slits for guns and boiling oil, which were part of an efficient rainwater harvesting system. Tourists can take taxis, autos, and buses to the fort from the airport. Nearest Metro The nearest metro station to the fort is Sindhi Camp metro station, which is approximately 13 km away. At the exit gate of the metro, you will find many e-rickshaws and taxis that can take you to the fort.
