Tourist Attractions in Nagappattinam

Nagapattinam has been playing an important role in trading since the Medieval Chola period. With its location on the seashore in Tamil Nadu, the seaports make a perfect place for trading and fishing. And the beaches of this town could be your favorite spot to chill out in.

There are several pilgrimage sites in Nagapattinam like Nagore Dargah, Kayarohanaswami Temple and Soundararajaperumal Temple. And the integrity between the Muslim and Hindus is celebrated in its 14-day long festival, Kanduri. The spiritual importance of Nagapattinam is also mentioned in Buddhist literature. In an excavation, about 300 statues of Buddha were unearthed.
