Itinerary Details
Day 1 : Delhi - Paro
In the morning board a flight to Paro. During the flight enjoy the mesmerizing views of Kanchan Junga , Mount Everest , Mount Chomolhari and Mount Jichu Drake in Bhutan. On arrival at Paro, meet our representative who will escort you to one of our listed hotels. Evening to be spent at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2 : Paro
Next morning after breakfast, proceed to visit Rinpung Dzong that houses the monastic body of Paro, Thrimpon of Paro district and the office of the Dzongda. To reach Rinpung Dzong you’ll take a walk through the traditional covered bridge called Nemi Zam. While standing on the bridge take a good view of the architectural wonder of Dzong and the life around it. Then proceed to visit the Tea Dzong a watch tower that was built to defend Rinpung Dzong. It is now serving as the National Museum of the country. It showcases a great collection of art, relics, religious thangkha paintings and Bhutan's exquisite postage stamps. Later in the day pay a visit to Kyichu Lhakhang, the oldest and most sacred shrines of the 7th century Kingdom. In the evening return to the hotel for dinner and night stay.
Day 3 : Paro - Chonana
In the morning after breakfast start trekking towards Chonana from Paro. The trek is 5 to 6 hours long. Most of the trail is a gradual climb through pine forest. While trekking you will pass by many alluring farm houses. Enjoy the beautiful view of the Paro valley from the trail. On reaching Chonana by afternoon rest and relax in one of the camps. Overnight stay at camp.
Day 4 : Chonana - Jebkarpo
Next morning after breakfast, trek towards Jebkarpo. The trail passes through forest filled with rhododendron, primula and other species of trees and plants. While trekking uphill for most of the day halt for plenty of rest on your way to Chilla pass. After crossing the pass the trail goes along the ridge of Chilla providing for a clear view of the Himalayas. Overnight stay in the camp.
Day 5: Jebkarpo - Lower Mingula
In the morning wake-up early to witness the mesmerizing and breathtaking view of the Mount Jitchu Drake, Mount Chomolhari and Tserim Gang from the camp site. Then start trekking Uphill for about 5 hours slowly and allowing for plenty of stops. While trailing along the ridge of Chilla you can have a scenic view of the valley of Paro and Haa. Overnight stay at camp.
Day 6: Lower Mingula - Thong
In the morning after breakfast, trek towards Thong from Lower Mingula. It is another day which offers you to enjoy excellent views of mountains and valleys. On this route it is very common to see yak herders. Overnight in camps.
Day 7: Thong - Thimphu
Next morning leave for Thimphu. It is a unique city with an unusual mixture of modern development alongside ancient culture. Drive through beautiful valleys and passes offering spectacular look to reach Thimphu. Upon arrival, check-in at one of our listed hotels. After resting and relaxing for a while visit the National Memorial Chorten. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 8 : Thimphu - Sightseeing
Next morning after breakfast, embark on a sightseeing tour of Thimphu covering places like the Dupthop Lhakhang, National Library and the Painting School. Post lunch drive to the Traditional Medicine Institute where medicines are still prepared using ancient practices. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 9 : Thimphu - Punakha - Wangdue Phodrang - Thimphu
After breakfast, begin trekking towards the Wangdue Phodrang. En-route visit the Punakha valley and enjoy the mesmerizing surroundings. Then resume trekking towards Wangdue Phodrang, a town that shares its name with a Dzong built in 1638, which is also the major attraction here. Explore the Dzong. Relax and later enjoy the scenic surroundings. Finally return to Thimphu to enjoy an overnight stay.
Day 10 : Thimphu - Paro
In the morning, get transferred to Paro airport to board a flight for onward journey.
