Itinerary Details
Day 1 : Paro
After arriving Paro airport, complete immigration & custom formalities. You shall be received by our representative who would arrange a comfortable transfer to the hotel. Spend overnight at the hotel in Paro.
Day 2 : Paro
Start your morning by paying a visit to Ta Dzong, the National Museum. The museum showcases huge collection of ancient Bhutanese weapons, art and artifacts, stamps , coins. It also exhibits small natural history collection. Later in the day visit the Rinpung Dzong. After having lunch, drive straight to Drukgyel Dzong, which was built by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal as a memorial to commemorate his victory over Tibetan invaders. Then visit 7th century Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest monastery of the Kingdom. Enjoy overnight stay at the hotel in Paro.
Day 03 : Thimphu
In the morning start up for Thimphu, the modern capital of Bhutan. On the way stop for a while to visit Bhutan’s most ancient fortress Simtokha Dzong . After lunch, get a chance to visit the Institute for Zorig Chusm, the center to learn 13 traditional arts and crafts of Bhutan, the National Institute of Traditional Medicine, the National Memorial Chorten , the National Library which houses an extensive collection of Buddhist literature in block-printed format and Trashichhodong. Spend overnight at the hotel in Thimphu.
Day 4 : Trongsa
Head straight to Trongsa via Dochula pass to enjoy a superb view of some of the Bhutan’s highest peaks. On a clear day the one can easily visit the following peaks: Kangphugang, Masagang, Zongaphugang, Tsendegang , Terigang , a table mountain that dominates the isolated region of Lunana, Jejegangphugang, and Gangkar Puensum, the highest peak in Bhutan. Enjoy your lunch at Wangduephodrang town. Later on proceed to Trongsa over Pele-la pass and spend overnight at the lodge.
Day 5 : Trongsa – Bumthang
In the morning, leave to visit the striking Trongsa Dzong, where you’ll get the glimpse of the lifestyle of Bhutan’s royal families. Then proceed to visit the Ta Dzong that was built as watchtower to guard Trongsa Dzong. Later in the day proceed to Bumthang and visit the Kurje monastery Which is believed to be the place where Guru Padsambhava had meditated in the 8th century, leaving his body imprint on the rock and also visit the 17th century Jakar Dzong. Halt for the night at the lodge in Bumthang.
Day 6 : Ngang Lhakhang
Today, in the morning, start your trek to Ngang Lhakhang. Following the trek route you’ll get a chance to visit the Chamkhar Chhu river and the forests of blue pine and scrub bamboo. On this relaxing and easy day We will pass by many villages and temples. Enjoy overnight camping at Ngang Lhakhang village.
Day 7 : Ugyenchholing
On the 7Th day we trail down gradually through juniper forest towards Phephe-la pass. On the route visit Tang valley before finally reaching Ugyenchholing village. Camp overnight at the bank of the river near the Ugyenchholing village.
Day 8 : Bumthang
In the morning, start for the Ugyenchholing Palace, that houses a small eco-museum and is a beautiful private mansion. Later in the day visit the Membertsho Lake, the sacred lake on an auspicious day is visited by many Bhutanese people to offer butter lamps. Spend overnight at the lodge in Bumthang.
Day 9 : Punakha
In the morning visit Jambey Lakhang. Then visit Tamshing Lhakhang, as this place houses old and interesting religious paintings. Drive to Punakha, enjoying lunch on the way. Spend overnight at the hotel in Punakha.
Day 10 : Paro
Today is a relaxing day, as we start for Paro and reach there by lunch time. Take a stroll around Paro market in the evening for last minute shopping. Spend overnight at the hotel in Paro.
Day 11 : Paro
After having breakfast, drive to the airport to board flight for onward destination.
