Ticket Price for Taktsang Monastery
Taktsang Monastery entry fee is USD 25 or INR 2,056 for all non-Bhutanese visitors. This ticket price covers the hiking and the entrance to the Monastery. Children under the age of 5 do not require a ticket to visit this monastery. At the base of the hike, you can purchase your ticket. However, a passport and other identification documents are required to buy the ticket.

Legends of Taktsang Monastery
According to the legend, in 747 AD, Guru Padmasambhava chose a cave on a sheer rock face to practice meditation. While practicing meditation, he assumed a wrathful form, Guru Dorji Drolo astride a tigress to subdue the evil spirit in the region. As per the legend, Yeshi Tshogyal is the tigress who transformed this animal and carried Guru Rinpoche from Singye Dzong in Eastern Bhutan to Taktsang.
